We usually will do a light dynamic warm-up to start off class. After warming up, we go straight into “teaching” and students will warm-up more as they practice techniques. After about 50 minutes of class time we have everyone line-up to take a class photo, officially signaling the end of class.
The remaining time is what we like to call Murder Practice. Students are welcome to leave or stick around to train at their own pace during “open roll”. This time will give you the opportunity to work on techniques that you have been learning on a partner who is resisting and trying to counter with their own. This will allow you to move at your own speed, sharpen your skills, and get in a great workout!
